Abstract

Sports buildings are one of the most important complementary elements of residential neighborhood centers and have a significant impact on aspects of community development, whether at the social or economic level. Within the framework of the interest of architecture and interior design engineering in its various functional activities, specifically the recreational sports space that ensures the availability of means of enjoyment and well-being for residents, and taking into account that the implementation of a constantly changing long-term design plan that serves various functional activities within a single space Is one of the most important features of successful and sustainable societies today, the research presents a proposed development model for the internal space of the covered multi-purpose sports hall at the Olympic Club in Alexandria, which includes a variety of sports activities as it suffers from many problems that do not meet the requirements and aspirations of the constantly changing users, including the lack of the internal space of the design standards necessary to create a homogeneous space aesthetically, recreationally and functionally, by enhancing the technical efficiency and sustainable functional performance of the covered sports hall, it depends on improving the infrastructure and contents of the gymnasium from equipment and software to meet the various functional needs and achieve maximum benefit from the available resources, which contributes to the urban development that forms the recreational sports structure, which meets the needs of residents and enhances the level of quality The quality of life of individuals, which benefits society as a whole.
